I just had my senior pictures taken. Deciding what to wear was impossible, so I'm sharing my I ended up wearing.
Most of the things were just items I had in my closet, so I don't have the exact information, but I have created a collage with similar items. red sweater, Lilly Pulitzer dress, white shirt, blue cardigan, blue dress, green sweater |
Some tips and tricks (mostly adapted from the checklist the photographer provided):
- bring plenty of clothes, especially a good selection of long sleeved tops to mix with jeans, slacks and shorts. Shoes typically don't show.
- if you want to appear as slim as you are avoid horizontal stripes and sleeveless clothing.
- Long sleeves for both dresses and blouses photograph best.
- Sweaters and jackets look great in photos!
- Personal items such as instruments, achievement awards, letter jackets, sports outfits and even pets make great photos! (check with your photographer first)
- Have a friend, brother or sister join you for a photo. (may require a small additional sitting fee)
- if there is a chance of rain but its not raining, take all your outdoor pictures first
- any pictures with hats (like the cap & gown photo) should be taken last, so hair is not messed up
- bring makeup to touchup
- translucent powder will eliminate shine without a “make-up” look
- bring several pairs of earrings and necklaces \
- be ready for it to take several hours
- get your nails done, there were a surprising amount of pictures where nails were visible, such as a cap and gown photo holding a diploma
- BE SURE ALL CLOTHING IS PRESSED AS WRINKLES DO SHOW!
